Voices

Voices through the trees,

Whispering sweet things,

Promising so much,

But in truth what will they bring,

The faintest sound,

That means so much,

Sitting quietly,

I wait to hear,

Disturbance in the distance,

Interfering with my trance,

But still I wait,

Till darkness falls,

Bringing its peaceful spell,

Upon the land,

And I sit and smile,

To myself and to the world.
